It started at the edge of a soccer field.
Books4sports was founded by T. Vega, a publisher and soccer mom. Her twin boys, Bruno and Mario, started playing at six and never stopped. Year after year of practices, tournaments and long rides home, mostly after losses, because their teams lose far more than they win. And here is the thing: they enjoy every minute, laugh it off, and show up to the next practice just as excited.
Somewhere in those years she noticed what every soccer parent eventually notices: when you talk to kids through soccer, they listen. The game is the door. Through it, a kid who hates reading will read. A kid who never says a word will tell you how the match really went. A kid who just lost will think about what comes next.
That is what these books are for. They use soccer as the excuse to get young players reading, writing and talking about the things that matter: effort, fair play, frustration, teamwork, confidence. Things you can point to inside the field and carry outside it. Sports can shape confidence and resilience for life, and the real game is building the person inside the athlete.

It runs in the family
The boys' grandfather, José "Pepe" Ravelo, was a professional player: nine seasons as captain of Xerez CD in Spain, 348 games, and a Venezuelan international. He wore the number 5. Today Mario wears that same number at his club in Barcelona. Three generations, one number.

And after fifty years in the game, Pepe wrote a book about it: his memoir Cincuenta años de xerecismo. A soccer player who ended up writing a book. A family that now publishes soccer books for kids. It adds up.
